What President Trump’s Immigration Policy wants from “sanctuary” cities is not draconian: they must turn over incarcerated illegal aliens to ICE and local police must assist Federal Law Enforcement in apprehending criminal illegal aliens.
One reason there are so many ICE agents in Minnesota now is that every operation needs not only agents to arrest the wanted person, but others to protect them. Ideally that role is handled by local police, who know their cities, their culture and their people better than outsiders.
The anti-ICE protests are not about immigration, compassion or civil rights. They are insurgency and insurrection. Sanctuary Cities should be outlawed. We are one nation with one constitution and laws that apply to every individual, city and state. There are not carve-outs or exceptions.
