Once again, unsurprisingly, Democrat leaders are on the wrong side of an important issue. And this time, they are bucking the opinion of 71% of their constituents. That is the number of Democrats in favor of Voter ID. (83% of all Americans support it.)
It is common sense to require proof of citizenship in order to register to vote and a photo ID in order to cast a vote in an election. And limiting mail-in voting to cases of illness, disability, military deployment or travel would close the door on the biggest opportunity for election fraud.
Voters clearly want Federal elections to be fair and transparent. But the Democrat leaders in Washington want to keep the door wide open for non-citizen voting and make secure elections impossible. Shame on them.
