CHARLIE KIRK: Rest in Glory

I first learned of Charlie Kirk when I joined the political fray a year ago to publicly support Donald Trump. I became a huge fan, subscribing to Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA and following him religiously on social media. I admired him and respected him and took absolute delight in his wit, his repartee, and the important work that he did.

I had never really spoken to anybody about Charlie Kirk before Wednesday so was absolutely AMAZED at how many people reached out when they heard he had been shot. He had a much wider audience than I was aware of.

There was a lot to admire about Charlie Kirk. He was a loving husband and father. He openly and proudly lived and professed his faith. He had strong and steady convictions and expressed them eloquently. The movement he started at the age of 18 was a huge success and was one of the reasons Donald Trump was re-elected in 2024. Kirk is perhaps the main reason JD Vance was chosen to be Trump’s Vice President.  At the ripe young age of 31, he was a trusted and respected confidante and sounding board for a lot of very powerful people.

Charlie Kirk’s assassination has made it painfully clear that “we need to have open dialog and stop the violence” is not enough. Liberals are not interested in and cannot be trusted to do either of these things.  They shut down all dialog by calling those with opposing viewpoints Fascist or Nazi. They start riots, destroy property and shoot people when anyone does something they don’t agree with.  Their sole desire and driving force is to destroy all that is good.

Our hearts may be broken, but our eyes have been opened: Enough is enough. We need to stand strong and SPEAK UP against the poison they spew and the treachery they practice. Exposing the Left’s moral and ideological bankruptcy will continue Charlie Kirk’s mission of winning the hearts and minds of young people everywhere searching for direction.

“Progressive intolerance sought to silence Charlie Kirk, but the most fitting tribute to his legacy is to expose the ideology’s falsehoods, reject its violence and rededicate ourselves to the ordered liberty it despises.” (John A. Burtka IV, President and CEO of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute)
