Last week marked the one-year anniversary of the death of a woman I had come to know and love. She served in the military for over 10 years and subsequently worked as a Sheriff’s Deputy for several years. Seanna had a loving husband and a son and daughter, both in their 20’s.
During her time in the military, Seanna was injured by an IED; despite several surgeries, she continued to suffer from neck pain. She became addicted to Oxycontin back when it was prescribed like candy. When that ended, she progressed to heroin and then fentanyl because they were cheaper.
Seanna had over a year of sobriety and a strong recovery program. But she slipped. And she died. And her family will never be the same. In her honor, I am passing on some facts about FENTANYL that everyone needs to know. Thank you, Megyn Kelly, for educating me.
- Fentanyl is the LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH in the US for 18 – 45-year-olds.
- Since 2019, there have been MORE DEATHS from Fentanyl than from ALL US WARS since (and including) World War II.
- 58,000 died in 15 years of the Vietnam War; 100,000 died from Fentanyl in 2024.
- Fentanyl is mixed in with an estimated 70% of all street drugs sold.
- Narcan does NOT work for a Fentanyl Overdose.
