President Trump’s recent Executive Order regarding Prescription Drugs continues his impressive streak of actions in favor of the average American citizen who will now pay the lowest price drug companies charge ANY nation.
Drug companies “negotiate” drug prices with every country in the world EXCEPT the United States. The US pays higher drug prices than the rest of the world – oftentimes MULTIPLES of foreign prices – in order to “support research.” Why should that be OUR responsibility when the entire world benefits from new drugs and drug companies reap the profits?
The US is less than 5% of the world’s population but accounts for 75% of global pharmaceutical profits. In addition to overcharging US customers, many US drug companies relocated their manufacturing and corporate headquarters to tax-friendly Ireland to avoid paying US corporate taxes.
The pharmaceutical industry has the largest lobbying group in Washington DC: there are over 1800 Pharma lobbyists – or 3 for every elected US Senator and Congress member!!! They throw around A TON of money, which is why nothing has ever been done to stop their unfair practices. Until now.
Pharmaceutical companies deserve no sympathy. HOORAY FOR US!!!! THANK GOD FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP!!!!
